Erastus is an Imperial Fists Chaplain who wielded the relic Crozius Arcanum Argent, as the Chapter fought to end the rebellion on Forfoda.[1]

History

As the battle to save the world raged, Erastus was charged with leading Sergeant Cranach's squadron, to kill the rebellion's second in command, Naiao Servia. The Inquisitor Lord Joffen Tur, interfered with those plans however, as he sought to learn why the rebellion began. He wanted Servia to be captured alive and in order to ensure that, the Inquisitor sent his Interrogator, Luce Spinoza, to accompany the Chaplain and the squadron. When they launched their attack, though, the Imperial Fists and Interrogator learned that the rebellion's leadership worshiped the Chaos God Nurgle, and they soon began fighting rebels infected with the God's foul power. In the battle that followed, Erastus was disarmed by the infected adjutant Servia and soon began to be overpowered by her. In order to save Erastus, and with the rest of the squadron unable to reach him in time, Spinoza acted quickly by grabbing the Chaplain's fallen Crozius Arcanum and striking a blow, that broke Servia's spine. The Interrogator was injured wielding the powerful Argent, however, and afterwards, the Imperial Fists captured Servia and brought Spinoza to a medicae to heal from her wounds.[1]

As the Interrogator recovered, a decision was made about her fate, for touching the sacred Crozius Arcanum. It had long been proclaimed, that for an outsider to handle the sacred relic, would earn the Imperial Fists' wrath. However since Spinoza had used the Argent to save Erastus' life, the Chapter eventually decided that it would be given to her as a gift. The former Crozius Arcanum was then heavily modified, so that a human could safely use it. When Erastus later presented the Argent to her, however, Spinoza tried to refuse to take the weapon, as she felt she was not worthy enough to wield it. The Chaplain warned her, though, that if she spurned the Imperial Fists' gift, that would be the second time Spinoza had insulted the Chapter, and one that Erastus would not overlook. With that veiled threat, the Interrogator accepted the Argent and Erastus began training with her, to show Spinoza how to properly fight with the weapon.[1]
