The Excrutia Armatus were a complex array of restraints and excruciation tools, that were used by the Sisters of Silence's Excruciatus, during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy.[1]
Description
They were among the Chamber of Judgement most recognizable symbols and the sight of the gruesome implements was a promise of retribution to the enemies of the Emperor. The Excrutia Armatus also promised a slow and terrible end in the Sisters of Silence's pain halls. Such a dire promise of retribution caused lesser foes to be struck by terror and they hesitated when faced by the onslaught of the Excruciatus and their Sisters.[1]
