Falerius was an Ultramarines Lieutenant, who served in the Indomitus Crusade.[1]

History

He was the second of the two Lieutenants, who commanded a Company worth of Ultramarines sent to defend Cassothea during the Crusade. The world lays within the Pariah Nexus and was being invaded by hordes of Necron, which vastly outnumbered the Ultramarines. Though the Crusade's command had ordered that Cassothea could not fall to the Xenos, the war went badly quickly. Within only days of arriving there, the senior Lieutenant leading the Company was killed by the Necrons and Falerius took command of the Company. He ordered the Ultramarines to focus on saving Cassothea's capital city, Macuth, but months later, the Necron had destroyed most of it. Many of the city's population had been massacred as well, along with over half of the Ultramarines. With no way to stop the Necron hordes from repairing themselves and with the last Crusade supply ship crashing into Cassothea, the order was given to evacuate the world. Soon afterwards, however, Falerius would go to aid one of his squadrons being pinned down by the Necron's fire. While his efforts ensured they escaped, several of the Xenos' Deathmarks had been lying in wait nearby for him and killed Falerius. Before his death, the Lieutenant had told Chaplain Sisenna, that he wanted Sergeant Allectius to succeed him, despite Fulgentius being the most senior of the Sergeants. While this went against the Codex Astartes, the remaining Sergeants agreed to abide by Falerius' wishes - much to the shock of Allectius.[1]
