Prefector Alkenex at the Ullanor Triumph.[1]

Flavius Alkenex is a Prefector of the Emperor's Children Legion's Phoenix Guard, during the Horus Heresy.[1]

History

A Terran of Europan origin[2d], he joined the Phoenix Guard following the Battle of Isstvan III, and was promoted to Prefector by Fulgrim himself. During the Horus Heresy Alkenex was tasked with maintaining communication between elements of the Legion.[2b]

After the Heresy, he became a member of the Phoenix Conclave, under Lord Commander Primus Eidolon. He lacked much of the self-mutilations and mutations that plagued the rest of the post-Heresy Emperor's Children, though his teeth had been ground down into spikes.[2a] Palos Gyr served as his subordinate[2c], and his personal gunship was the Phoenician’s Blade.[2b]

Post-Heresy he wore Mark IV battleplate decorated with complex heraldry and heavy ornamentation, adorned with unfulfilled or broken oaths of moment.[2a] Flavius was placed by Eidolon to oversee Fabius Bile during the journey to the Eastern Fringe to recover a lost Gene-Seed tithe.[2c] In truth, Flavius intended to kill Bile for his past treachery against the Legion. While Bile was on Solemnace to try and locate the lost gene-tithe, Flavius made his move and attempted to seize the Vesalius with his men. However they provoked Fabius' recently discovered clone of Fulgrim, who rallied the Gland-Hounds to his cause. Upon seeing the reborn Primarch, Flavius was overcome with awe and pledged himself to the clone. However when Fabius traded the clone to Trazyn the Infinite in exchange for the lost gene-tithe, Flavius and his men were taken by the Necron Lord as well.[2e]
