Geviox is a processor planet, producing vast quantities of raw materials to be sent to Forge Worlds around the Imperium.

History

Recently, Geviox was the epicentre of the 'Gevion Cluster War'. In an uncharacteristic move, Dark Eldar of the Volgorragh Rift launched a full scale invasion of the sub-sector for unknown purposes aside from their usual slave-taking. In retaliation, Captain Adrax Agatone of the Salamanders Chapter lead the 3rd Company in campaign of liberation, fighting alongside the 156th Night Devils Imperial Guard Regiment under General Slayte.[1a] After a lengthy campaign costing the lives of many Astartes and the near loss of Vulkan's Sigil — one of the Chapters nine most precious artefacts — during an earlier assault on Ironlandings[1a], one of Geviox's main factorums, the Salamanders managed to defeat the Dark Eldar after a furious battle at the Ferron Straits.[1c] With the main Dark Eldar host broken, the remaining forces were quickly destroyed, freeing the Gevion Cluster Worlds from the raiders.[1c]

Geography

A small world, Geviox is a processor planet with a high iron content, making it suitable for extensive mining operations. It is mined by a transient population of approximately 5,000,000 inhabitants who, once the ferrous ore of the planet has been expended, will move onto another planet to harvest whatever resources the Imperium needs. Two thirds of the planet's surface is covered with vast factorums and grey banks of iron dust coat a horizon of comprised of endless silos and towers.[1a]
