The Gilded King

The Gilded King is a Dreadblade Knight.[1a]

Piloting a Knight Desecrator, the fallen High King of House Iyngor[1a] of Aurelion Major[1b] is called the Gilded King. In the distant past, the Knight suits of each of the monarchs’ bondsmen bore a golden escutcheon upon which was emblazoned the house’s sigil. These warriors were loyal to their liege, but at some point the royal line fell to Chaos and began executing its retainers. The Gilded King cut down the other Knights one by one, stripping away the gold sigils from each machine. With the Household destroyed, the Gilded King set about eradicating all traces of civilization from the surface of his world. All records of the Gilded King before this time were incinerated, as were the names of the nobles he exterminated. The only monument to remain was a sprawling relief sculpture that stretched across the planet's equator, which depicts the first bonding of the Gilded King. Many other Noble lines have since been savaged by this mechanical monstrosity, yet the true nature of who pilots it remains unknown.[1a]

In the millennia since its fall, the Gilded King has become worshiped by various Chaos Cults, who have placed daubings on its armor.[1d] At some point, the Dreadblade learned of a vault of ancient technology and sets out to not only find the repository but also slay its guardian, the Green Knight.[1c]

The Gilded King is currently armed with a laser destructor, reaper chainsword and heavy stubber.[1d]
