The Gorgon's Aegis is a massive force field, that protects The Rock, the Fortress Monastery of the Dark Angels and it flickers like a lighting storm in the void.[1]
History
When the Demi-Chaos God Vashtorr sought to capture a Key-Fragment from the Rock during the Arks of Omen Campaign, he used the Unmaker from his Ark of Omen, Orac Unleashed, to overload the Aegis. The weapon's barrages of esoteric energies caused the force field to collapse and this burned out gun batteries and subsidiary systems throughout the Fortress Monastery. Vashtorr then ordered his forces, along with his Black Legion and Word Bearers allies, to invade the Rock afterwards.[1]
