Haldor Twinfang was a member of the Space Wolves' Third Great Company, among the first Blooded Claws inducted into the Chapter after the Second Founding.[1a]

Biography

Induction

Ove-Thost, as he was known before his ascension, was a warrior of Fenris who nearly succumbed to the Curse of the Wulfen during his Trial of Morkai. As he neared the Aett, he fought a predator with three rows of fangs, taking two of these to pin together the wound it left on his shoulder. At the gates of the Aett he was met by the Wolf Priest Brannak, who later threaded the twin fangs on a leather chord for the renamed Haldor, giving him the name Haldor Twinfang.[1a]

Twinfang was inducted into Jarl Aeska Brokenlip's Company, the Third Great Company, one of the first new Blood Claws since the Legion had been made a Chapter by the Second Founding. Brannak continued to take a special interest in Twinfang, giving him a two-headed axe of dark metal and telling him to learn its name. At the feast to celebrate the new Blood Claws, Twinfang left the feasting hall and met the Primarch Leman Russ, who saw his axe and told him the saga of the Lion and the Wolf.[1a]

Early Service

Twinfang's first battle was against the orks on the agri-world of Pholeses X, followed by numerous other encounters with various xenos in his first campaign tour. Years later, he became a Hunter and master of his pack of six.[1b]

The Cataclysm of Faith

The appearance of the space hulk Cataclysm of Faith marked the first signs of the Great Enemy's return, carrying a force of Emperor's Children among its hordes of twisted, degenerate creatures. After Aeska Brokenlip died fighting in the space hulk, Twinfang took his pack as part of a fleet from multiple Chapters to bring vengeance to the hulk. The campaign against lasted years, drawing in forces from the Dark Angels, Ultramarines, White Scars, and several of their successors. On the eve of the last battle on the desert world of Iela, Twinfang fought an honour duel with the Dark Angel Sergeant Otho.[1b]

Wargear

Twinfang carries the relic axe Wyrdfast.[1b]
