Halo Flight was a Marauder Fighter-bomber wing of the Phantine Fighter Corps active during the Sabbat Worlds Crusade.[1a]

History

In 212.771.M41, Halo Flight were deployed as part of the first wave of air support prior to the Astra Militarum operation to retake Cirenholm and its vapour mills from the Blood Pact. Their initial flight took them ahead of the drogues carrying the Militarum regiments committed to the assault, with the aim of dropping chaff on Cirenholm to obscure and blind the city's defences.[1a]

Their run was successful and Halo Flight was heading back to their drogue to refuel when they were attacked by enemy aircraft.[1a] Five of Halo's planes were destroyed[1a], the only survivors being Halo Two[1b] and Captain Viltry of Halo Leader, who successfully jettisoned before his plane was torn apart.[1b][1c]

Assets

When the flight was deployed in the Cirenholm assault, it numbered six Marauders.[1a] These were all destroyed and the crews killed with the exception of Halo Two[1b] and Halo Leader Captain Viltry, who jettisoned in time to escape.[1a][1b][1c]
