Hektor (Captain)
Hektor was an Ultramarines Legion Captain, who commanded the Battleship Fist of Macragge and he was charged with searching out lost Human worlds, during the last years of the Great Crusade.[1a]
History
One of these worlds was Arkenath, where Hektor and the five hundred Space Marines he commanded, waged a three year war that destroyed the Vektates Xenos species and freed the Human population they had mind controlled. Afterwards, the grateful Humans of Arkenath eagerly joined the Imperium and Hektor received new orders from his Primarch Roboute Guilliman. He was to immediately journey to the Vangelis space port to collect Captain Lysimachus Cestus and his forces there, before joining his Legion at the muster on Calth, as it prepared to attack the Ork hordes invading the Veridan System.[1a]
Before the Fist of Macragge could enter the Warp however, it was attacked and nearly destroyed[1a] by the Word Bearers Battleship, the Furious Abyss. Its commander Zadkiel had joined his Primarch Lorgar, and the Word Bearers Legion, in turning upon the Imperium and had targeted the Fist of Macragge in order to field test the newly built Furious Abyss' weapon systems[1b]. With his Battleship now dead, due to the damage it had received, Hektor gave the order to send a warning[1a] to the Vangelis space port[1b] before the Furious Abyss fired again and completely destroyed the Fist of Macragge.[1c]
