Hellas Sycar battles Constantin Valdor aboard the Vengeful Spirit in the climax of the Siege of Terra[3a]

Hellas Sycar was a Captain of the Sons of Horus during the Siege of Terra.[1]

Replacing Falkus Kibre as commander of the Justaerin after his apparent death, by the final stages of the Siege Sycar was one of the more rational Sons of Horus commanders and was still skeptical of the powers of Chaos. Thus when Abaddon gathered the remaining Sons of Horus to make for the Vengeful Spirit after its Void Shields were lowered, Sycar deferred to the First Captains authority unlike many.[1]

After arriving on the Vengeful Spirit alongside Abbadon, Sycar explored the reality-warped interior of the vessel alongside the First Captain. Eventually discovering the broken Kinor Argonis[2a], Sycar and his compatriots eventually became embattled against maddened Word Bearer legionaries and Solar Auxilia. Though they performed well, it took the intervention of Erebus to stop them being overwhelmed.[2b] Led by Abaddon, Sycar takes part in a Justaerin assault on the Custodes aboard the Vengeful Spirit under Constantin Valdor. Aided by the powers of the Warp via Erebus and six other Justaerin Terminators, Sycar is able to badly wound Valdor with his sword.[3a]

Sycar later accompanies Abaddon and other surviving Sons of Horus officers when they finally reach Lupercal's Court and find Garviel Loken alongside the body of Horus. Sycar moves to attack Loken but is ordered to stand down by Abaddon, and later leaves the Sol System aboard the Vengeful Spirit[3b].
