Herxes was a Sergeant in the Word Bearers Legion who took part in the Battle for Calth during the Horus Heresy.^[1]

When Calth's sun, Veridia, began giving off deadly radiation during the battle, Herxes led his squadron underground for the safety of the planet's arcologies. Unfortunately, the Ultramarines Sergeant Cladius had the same goal and their two forces clashed as they raced each other to escape the deadly radiation now scouring Calth's surface. In the fierce battle that followed, Cladius and his squadron were able to deal severe losses to Herxes's forces, but were ultimately all killed. Herxes led what remained of his squadron to the safety of the arcologies.^[1]
