House Casziel is a Knight House which took part in the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy.[1]
It was during the Heresy, however, that its High King, Artonrus Balgorus, told his House they would no longer fight for the Imperium. The ideals it espoused during the Great Crusade were now dead and he would not have House Casziel fight for distant masters who did not know them. Instead, if Casziel was to survive the Heresy, they would become a Blackshield Knight House and fight for only themselves.[1]
