Kardozia[2]

Kardozia was a Dreadnought Iron Father in the Iron Hands Legion during the Horus Heresy.[1]

History

Kardozia was not with his Legion when they were decimated during the Dropsite Massacre. When he learned of what had befallen the Iron Hands, and his Primarch Ferrus Manus' death, Kardozia took his Patrol Cruiser Light of Battle, as well as the three squads he had under his command, and began targeting the supply convoys of Horus' forces and any warships they would be able to destroy. He would continue do this until the later years of the civil war, when he learned that Horus' forces where massing in the Beta-Garmon System, which led directly into the Segmentum Solar and Terra itself. The Imperium's loyal forces were moving to stop the Traitors however, and the embattled System became one of the largest battles in the Heresy's history. Kardozia decided he needed to aid the Imperium's forces there and took his the Light of Battle into the Warp. However, while traveling through the Warp, the psyker Iron Hand Dalves, who served under his command, made psychic contact with the Raven Guard Legion's Chief Librarian Balsar Kurthuri, who was also traveling through the Warp with his Primarch Corax aboard their flagship, the Battle Barge Avenger. Once he learned of this Kardozia asked to arrange a meeting with Corax, as the Iron Father wanted to exchange information on what was occurring in the civil war and, more importantly, hopefully convince the Raven Guard to join him in fighting in the Beta-Garmon System. Though the two leaders would meet aboard the Avenger, they could not agree on what to do after Kardozia, informed Corax of the battle in Beta-Garmon. Corax stated that it would a wasted effort to join what he thought was already a lost battle, as with Horus' personally leading the forces there, he had no doubt the Traitors were ensured to be victorious. Kardozia made the point, that even if they were doomed to lose in Beta-Garmon, the Imperium's forces had to make Horus pay in blood and armour for his victory and for every step the Warmaster took towards Terra. Eventually though, it was clear neither could change the others' mind and they bid each other farewell. Once aboard the Light of Battle, Kardozia was true to his word and headed directly for the Beta-Garmon System and his fate after that is unknown.[1]
