Heptus Rho-Decima Khleng is the current Fabricator General of Metalica and he commanded both its and their allies' forces, during the Charadon Campaign.[1a]

History

Once a Datasmith of Metalica's Legio Cybernetica, Khleng always revered the holy-machines he oversaw in battle. He was pivotal to Metalican victories on Scarvyn, the Lanterior Purge, and the quisition of Akhar Brosk's lost datahives. Rising through the ranks and increasingly augmenting himself cybernetically, by the time he became Fabricator-General of Metalica his form was the size of a super-heavy tank. Moving upon a gravitic thrust cushion, he is festooned with nests of Mechadendrites and wreathes petrochemicals. His enormous body also contains a network of powerful Cogitators whose innermost functions skirt the precipice of Abominable Intelligence. This gives him vast calculation and probability capabilities, which Khleng sees as the divine word of the Omnissiah himself.{[1b]

Since his ascension, Khleng has spent much time communing with the vast Noosphere data-network of his Forge World. Through this connection he can observe his entire domain and monitor all communications and data. If the Fabricator-General has one weakness, it is he stubbornly denies any possibility that violates his own predictions.[1b]

As the Campaign raged, Khleng dispatched his Forge World's forces to save the invaded Alumax System, due to how close it was to Metalica. However the Plague Captain Oghlosmus Bilge's warhost, was too powerful for the System's Imperial defenders and Alumax was conquered.[2] After a period of inactivity caused by shock, Khleng redoubled his efforts to reinforce Metalica and its outlying systems, withdrawing forces from the rest of the Sector in an abandonment known as Khleng's Betrayal. Trapped in a logic-loop of his own creation, he attempted to rationalize variables he viewed as factual impossibility and obsessed over minutia.[1c]

At the climax of the war in Charadon Typhus managed to breach Khleng's inner sanctum and infect him with the Nemesis Wurm. The computer phage spread throughout the Forge World and transformed Khleng into a mutated monstrosity. He was put out of his misery by Mechanicum repair teams.[3]
