Leaping Pronghorn
The Leaping Pronghorn is a Wrathhost Gladius Escort and is among the Chapter's forces serving as part of the Wardens of the Gauntlet.[1]
History
The Escort was later among the Wrathhost's fleet that took part in purging the Pirate infested Stones of Cavadi, at the request of Inquisitor Kirs Drova. The Inquisitor and the Wrathhost both thought it would be an easy campaign, as they did not believe the numerous Pirate groups within the asteroid field, would defend each other. They were soon proven wrong, as the Pirates worked together surprisingly well to fight the Chapter and a grueling guerilla war began. After the Wrathhost's fleet suffered several losses, Inquisitor Drova was forced to call upon the Imperial Navy to assist in defeating the Pirates. With their aid, the Pirates were defeated and the Stones were purged. However just as it appeared the battle was over, a single Xenos ship escaped from the asteroid field. The Leaping Pronghorn gave chase and its Space Marines were able to board the fleeing ship. Once aboard, the Wrathhost fought their way through the ship's Human and Xenos crew and entered its bridge. There they discovered a high ranking Tau Water Caste envoy, who had been leading the Stones' Pirate groups. For its part, the Xenos congratulated the Space Marines on their victory in the asteroid field and then promptly surrendered to them. The Wrathhost later deliverd the Tau envoy to Inquisitor Drova, where it joined her hundreds of other prisoners that had been captured during the battle.[1]
