Magmus
Magmus is a Salamanders Terminator, who wields a Heavy Flamer as he has a love of fire, like much of his Chapter does.[1b]
History
In M42, he was among the Salamanders[1b] that defended the Imperium's worlds in the Vertex Sector. When the vital world of Vertex, suffered an Ork invasion[1a] the Salamanders[1b] and several Space Marine Chapters came to its defense[1a]. Magmus would do battle with the invading Orks and the Salamanders would make many great sacrifices in defending the world. Because of this, Vertex's grateful population now greets the Chapter with cheers, whenever their Power Armor or the Salamanders' symbol is seen[1b]. Magmus' mission would later change, though, when the Xenos found a weakness in the Hive City of Acastus' defenses. It had been protected during the invasion by a Void Shield network, which was projected from an armored bunker designated Shield Generator Gamma-9. However the Orks would discover this and several hordes were sent to destroy it, so the Xenos could invade the Hive City.[1a]
The Chapters became aware of the danger[1a] and each sent a Terminator to protect the Shield Generator. Magmus was sent by the Salamanders to defend it and he was joined by the Blood Angel Sergeant Angelus, the Imperial Fist Etrus, the Space Wolf Stormheart and the Ultramarine Lucian[1b]. Though they numbered only five, in the close confines of the armored bunker, these Terminator-armored warriors would be in their element. None would allow the Orks access to Shield Generator Gamma-9, without a fierce battle.[1a]
