Magyar

Lord Magyar is the current Chapter Master of the Mortifactors Space Marine Chapter. This venerable warrior is clad in artificer armor made of bone. His movements are slow and unhurried, every step considered and solemn. His breastplate is formed from long ribs, bent and fashioned into shape, the Imperial eagle at its center as skeletal as his winged familiar that sits atop his throne and watches the proceedings within the Gallery of Bone. Every piece of this warrior's armor, from the greaves to the vambrace, cuissart and gorget is formed from bone. He carries a gigantic scythe, its blade silvered and sharp, the haft gleaming ebony.[Needs Citation]

Though it is impossible to guess the exact age of this venerable Chapter Master, most fellow Astartes guess his age to be at least seven hundred years old. It is not known how long Lord Magyar has been Chapter Master of the Mortifactors Chapter.[1]

Notable Battles

On the day of the Feast of the Emperor's Ascension (998.M41), the entire Mortifactors Chapter entered a massed meditation. When they awoke, they prophesied that the Third War for Armageddon against the Beast would be the 'Last Battle' and all men who would be warriors were called up and recruited. Lord Magyar entrusted his Chapter's fortress monastery to their underlings and the entire Chapter (all 10 Companies) mobilized and set off for Armageddon.[2]

Upon their return from the Armageddon campaign, the Mortifactors set about re-establishing those Marines and Companies that were lost defending that world. The next full action performed by the Mortifactors was assisting the Ultramarines in defending the world of Tarsis Ultra against a splinter fleet of Hive Fleet Leviathan.[1]
