Markov (Inquisitor)
Markov is an Inquisitor, who was old friends with his fellow Inquisitor Bellona.[1]

He knew she was a Radical, however, and in M42 Markov suspected Bellona was working on something that could endanger the Imperium. The Inquisitor sent his Blank Heroth to infiltrate Bellona's retinue, learn what she planning and then execute her when he gave the order to. Markov also provided the Blank with manufactured evidence, that would convince Bellona that her retinue member Yusi, who she did not trust, was a traitor. It succeeded in doing so and this led Bellona making Heroth a member of her inner circle, just as Markov thought it would. In time, Heroth became so trusted by Bellona, that the Blank was chosen to help the Inquisitor enact her plan to close the Great Rift. She informed Heroth that this would end the greatest threat to the Imperium, but would require the deaths of billions of psykers for it to work.[1]
The first step would be killing Gheisthaven's Astropathic Choir with a drug she was developing called Sanctus. The Astropaths' deaths would create a psychic death shockwave, that would pass through Gheisthaven's Astropathic Choir and then spread to Imperial worlds she selected, that had a heavy psyker population. Every Psyker struck by it would die and empower the shockwave as it spread to other worlds. Since these worlds were aligned with a Warp Nexus, they would act like a great amplifier and also increase the shockwave's power. This make it so strong that the shockwave would seal the Great Rift and end its threat to the Imperium. Due to her trust in him and his abilities as a Blank, Bellona chose Heroth to carry out the Astropaths' deaths. The Blank would inform Markov of Bellona's plan, but the Inquisitor did not order his friend's death, until she was ready to act on Gheisthaven. Knowing that her actions could kill them all, Markov ordered Heroth to kill Bellona and any of her retinue that the Blank decided needed to die. Heroth carried out his orders and executed Bellona before her plans could come to fruition.[1]
