Menatar is a planet of the Imperium; the second planet of the Ozyma-138 System, Menatar possesses an atmosphere toxic enough that not even a Space Marine could survive unprotected on its surface.[1]

History

At one point, Menatar was inhabited by Eldar Exodites. The Exodites abandoned the planet before the system's star expanded into a red giant, but not before imprisoning a large Tyranid vanguard organism within a psychically-active prison. The prison was unearthed many years later by Magos Iapetus Borgovda of the Adeptus Mechanicus, resulting in the deployment of Kill Squad Talon of the Deathwatch to capture the creature.[1]

Ultimately, Talon were unable to take the beast alive and the monster was killed by Siefer Zeed. Following this, Inquisitor Sigma ordered the complete destruction of all Imperial facilities on the planet in order to eliminate all witnesses.[1]
