Mortant is a Hive World of the Imperium[1] located in the southeastern Segmentum Tempestus.[2]
It is tradition amongst the hive gangers of Mortant to collect the severed body parts of defeated enemies as trophies. This practice extends to at least some of the Imperial Guard Regiments raised on Mortant (known simply as the Mortant Regiments), giving them a reputation for viciousness - most notably the Mortant VII 'Headhunters'.[1]
