Pankration is an Imperial martial arts style, that is practiced by Space Marines. It can also be programmed into Tractoris Servitors, so that Space Marines can spar against them.[1]

Description

It is a pugilist style, which consists of a series of 87 pattern of punches, which get faster with each swing. When done correctly, Pankration practitioners' fists will make short, sharp noises in the air and they can also exhale cries that will help them add power to their blows. When they are not attacking, practitioners will always have their arms up to protect their face. The exact age of Pankration's creation is unknown, but it was included in the combat programs for the first generation of Primaris Space Marines. This was done via real life training and virtual stimulation, through the use of Hypnomat memory implantation.[1]

Trivia

Pankration was a sporting event introduced into the Greek Olympic Games in 648 BC, which was an empty-hand submission sport with few rules.
