Background

In one of the clashes with Chaos Space Marines, after a sinuous failure of the rites of teleportation aboard their Battle Barge Edge of Rage, a full squad of Red Scimitars 1st Company veterans were torn asunder by the forces of the Immaterium, their remains painted upon the walls of the teleportarium. Even so, all other Space Marines of the Strike Force Ultra who successfully made the teleportation went on to complete their mission, materialising deep within a Black Legion stronghold and turning its warlord’s throne room into a charnel house.[1]

In 913.998.M41, marines from the 4th and 5th companies engaged Chaos Space Marines of the Angels of Pain chapter as they raided the Trantation Station. After a running battle that lasted several days, the Red Scimitars defeated the renegades and forced them to retreat, but not before they vindictively bombarded the planet with a barrage of seismic missiles and virus bombs that rendered it uninhabitable for centuries.[2]

Sometime in the 41st Millennium vessels of the Chapter were battling an Ork Waaagh! near the Maelstrom, when they encountered Fabius Bile's vessel Vesalius.[3]

Culture

After a new marine is gifted with his battleplate, he begins to write his own poem upon the chestplate of his power armour, adding details with every following victory and deed. Though the main colour of the Red Scimitars is red, some of their older suits are so heavy with the scripts that they appeared to be painted crimson or even black from a distance. When a marine died and the power armour were passed to next young successor, he was inspired with the victories of old, adding his own deeds to the Chapter's history.[3]
