Saiph was a recruitment world for the Blood Angels Legion during the Great Crusade. A savage irradiated wasteland, Saiph's barbaric population frequently slaughtered one another. Its ferocious inhabitants made fine Space Marines when molded properly under the teachings of Sanguinius.[1a]
Despite their bloodthirsty reputation, during the Battle of Signus Prime many of the recruits from Saiph maintained their sanity while the Terran and Baalite recruits succumbed to the Red Thirst.[1b] Later, the world was invaded by the World Eaters. Blood Angels Medicae Primus Anastor Kendral waged a brutal guerrilla war against the World Eaters for many years, forcing them to evacuate in 012.M31 during the Great Scouring.[1a]
