Alex Stewart

Sandy Mitchell is a pseudonym for British writer Alex Stewart, who has authored several books for the Black Library.

Mitchell/Stewart has been a full-time writer since the mid-1980s and was first published by the Black Library in 2002. He has also written fiction for Warhammer Fantasy and background material for the Warhammer roleplaying game, including Scourge the Heretic, the first tie-in book to the Dark Heresy roleplaying game.

He lives in the North Essex village of Earls Colne, with his wife and daughter.2 His hobbies include the martial arts of Aikido and Iaido1.

Mitchell's other works include short stories and magazine articles. As a member of the Midnight Rose Collective, he edited the Temps and EuroTemps collections of short stories with Neil Gaiman.
