Sangallo was a former Chapter Master of the Blood Angels. He led a large force of the Chapter to battle in what became known as the Secoris Tragedy, where disaster struck and Sangallo and a majority of the Blood Angels were killed by hordes of Genestealers in a failed Space Hulk cleansing. Among the fifty Battle Brothers who managed to escape the massacre were Captains Dante and Kadeus, who would succeed Sangallo as Chapter Master and eventually led the Blood Angels from the brink of extinction.[1]
