This page states that Lasgun are solely semi automatic, however in the Gaunts Ghosts novels series for example this is not the case; lasguns have numerous settings including semi automatic and automatic, though perhaps this is varies from sector to sector.Wyrmalla 18:30, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Lasguns are manufactured on various forge worlds, so it's natural to think there are various styles of lasguns. The N 19:52, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Hellgun & Hot-Shot Lasgun

The article cites page 46 of the 5th Edition IG codex that Hellguns are being replaced by Hotshot lasguns but upon checking the source it states no such thing. This is the extent to which the two are referenced implying that they are one and the same:

"Hot-shot Lasgun: The hot-shot lasgun uses a more powerful, external energy cell. This allows the hellgun to project a more powerful, and more penetrating, shot."

And this from Imperial Armour Vol. 5 page 88:

"The standard armament of the grenadier squads is the type XIV lasgun (heavy), referred to by troops as the 'hellgun' or, more rarely 'hotshot' lasgun."

Based on this information the two pages should be merged since they support the idea that the two weapons are one and the same, simply referred to by different names. BeeWolf 23:19, 3 January 2013 (CET)

Additional sources: "Sometimes also known as "hot-shot" weapons, hellguns are almost exclusively used by high ranking Imperial officers and elite forces who favour the higher power over regular las weapons." Rogue Trader Core Rulebook page 119. BeeWolf 22:14, 6 January 2013 (CET)
