I have a big issue with this. In the opening sections of the Horus Heresy novels, it says Maloghurst is non-Astartes Personnel. Was it confirmed anywhere within the book that he was a Space Marine?

He's Astartes. "Maloghurst was a veteran Luna Wolf...he had been in his time a company captain and might even risen to the first captaincy had he not been promoted to the office of equerry." --Horus Rising p.121.--Mob 17:08, 11 November 2008 (CET)
