Some parts of this article were removed, it was stuff Irulan put there, can we start a quick debate about it? --Madness 17:58, 25 May 2008 (CEST)

I believe adding canon conflicts is part of the founding remit of this encyclopaedia, to point out the flaws in the knowledge we have of the 40k universe and as such it should be reinstated.--Jonru 23:15, 25 May 2008 (CEST)
I will get round to this later but I believe that there should be two seperate articles, one for the council of nikaea, and a stub for the planet.--Vindicta 10:19, 10 January 2009 (CET)

I do not believe that their should be separate entries based on the fact that no where does the canon refer to the planet of Nikaea without a reference (expressly or implied) to the Council of Nikaea, the planet holds no direct canon of its own. Sorry to be sounding off on this way late, but I think we should revert it back.--qryan 05:54, 13 October 2011 (CEST)

The Edict of Nikaea is at least partly still enforced. For example in the novel "Salamanders": The Marines Malevolent obey the edict and intentionally don't use Librarians. The Salamanders regard the Edict of Nikaea as outdated and use Librarians.
Maybe the Thousand Sons weren't the only Legion to ignore the edict: The Dark Angels employed at least two Librarians at the beginning of the Horus Heresy and the Garro audiobooks mention an Ultramarines Librarian. --DetlefK 13:23, 13 October 2011 (CEST)
Doesn't the audiobook specifically say that the Librarian is forbidden to use his power and just serves as a "normal" marine? --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 16:13, 13 October 2011 (CEST)
Yeah, the audiobook specifically says the the Ultramarine in question (I forget his name!) is conflicted about the death of an Apothecary killed defending Calth from the Word Bearers as while he was unable to save the Apothecary using normal methods, because he was changing his Bolter Magazine, but could have easily save his life using his powers. However, the 2nd Audiobook does mention the Ultramarine using his powers of Istvaan in the service of Malcador - it also mentions that he is equiped with a Psychic Hood. While the events of this audiobook are not dated, it can be assumed that it took place reasonably soon after the attack of Calth in the first audiobook. -- Kobun 11:47, 14 October 2011 (BST)
