Talk:Occlusiad War

From Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum

The primary source very clearly specifies this war happened in the "Northwestern Fringe" and "Segmentum Obscurus", not the "Western Fringe" or "Segmentum Pacificus". In addition, I fixed the citations, cleaned up the grammar, and tweaked the wording so it's not just a copy-paste job. Finally, Navigator Macran is clearly never going to get his-or-her own page -- anything you could say about him-or-her, you'd say in this article -- so I went ahead and removed the brackets from his-or-her name.

1.) Thank you for your work.

2.) The policy is to allow every potential article its own article. You never know when (or if) a character (as an example) might be elaborated on by GW. And then one would have to go back and include all those brackets again. Also since a single person is unlikely to have a 100% overview of all material ever published the decision what "deserves" its own article or not is a dangerous one. In addition non-existant but often linked-to articles show up on special pages. So to put it short: Please do not remove those brackets, they don't hurt anyone but have have their benefits, thank you. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 15:18, 21 March 2018 (MDT)

I think I see what you mean. Also, let me try this ~ thing...

To be clear, of course we are aware that most of these characters/ places etc will never be more than throwaway lines for GW, but even a (very) short article linking (or being linked to) internally to other articles (let's for example say this navigator ending up in a list of known navigators or known persons from a specific period or time helps grow the network of interlinked articles. Also if I for example just wanted to have a very quick overview of such a character I wouln't really feel like looking for the info needed in a longer article. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 13:01, 22 March 2018 (MDT)
Yes, we "aware", but GW always could use this character in some novel/novella/story/new codex etc. ;) It happened before and presumably would be happened in future. So I also agree that brackets are needed.--Darkelf77 (talk) 14:34, 22 March 2018 (MDT)
