Talk:Phoenix Lord

This page already has most of the information on the pheonix lords, why not merge the pages over completely? I think it would be a good idea, and I will upload pictures and the like if needed. SanchiTachi 01:52, 29 June 2007 (CEST)

Why there isn't a page about the "fallen" phoenix lord Arhra, for obviously, he/she would deserve one as a character? KotznaZ posted: 26.08.2010

Because so far nobody has written it. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 14:55, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

I didn't want to go messing around with this fairly established article without commenting about it first and getting some advice. As of the Path of the Warrior novel the third paragraph is a little inaccurate in its detail. More specifically the novel describes the death and rebirth of Karandras. In the novel it is explicitly stated that there is no body within the Phoenix Lord's armour (indeed, not even any blood) and that the armour is filled with the spirits that make up Karandras, which Morlaniath and his associated personalities are added to after being ripped from the exarch's body and the spirit stones in the armour they inhabited.

My problem is as follows: the detail in this article is based on an actual codex (albeit an older one) whilst the more recent information is based on a novel. Which of the two takes priority in this case? Is the older information simply to be viewed as a casualty of canonical development? Which of the two is the version that should be on this article? This is further complicated by the fact that the entire scene spans about four or five pages and is rather artistic in style making it a little tricky to spell out precisely what happens; although I'd be happy to give it a try if appropriate.

Thanks. - Exarch 03:32, 6 May 2011 (CEST)

I think old fluff was pretty clear that Phoenix Lord armor does not contain a body, and two different pieces of fluff by Gav Thorpe corroborate this: a bit of fiction that was published in WD (U.S. issue 236) around the time Codex Eldar 3rd Ed was released; and a more recent novel, Path of the Warrior. I think it is safe to assume from these bits of fluff that the Exarch does not actually don the armor but that his spirit is taken (sucked) within the armor itself. Moreover, it seems that only the latest personality of the Exarch is sucked in, not all the ones of previous, deceased Exarchs still residing inside the suit. --Arthfael 22:12, 13 August 2011 (CEST)
