"The Emperor rejected his warning, choosing rather to focus on how he gained the information,
rather than what the information was; and sent the Space Wolves to wipe out the Thousand Sons
and destroy their homeworld. Furious at the Emperor's pious blindness, Magnus the Red dedicated
both himself and his legion to the dark god of knowledge to follow both his own selfish desires,
and get revenge on the Emperor."

There is no fluff, to my knowledge at least, for the above claim. Seeing as I may be wrong if some one could source the above claim I would be grateful for it. If it cannot be sourced then I would call for it's removal.

I think there is some, probably older, background that is similar to that. I believe the most recent incarnation is in the Horus Heresy books in which the Emperor sent the Space Wolves to bring Magnus to Terra for trial or something but Horus intercepted them and convinced them to destroy the Thousand Sons instead. I think it was something like that.--Jonru 11:04, 24 February 2008 (CET)
This was THE background for many years and in nearly all publications from Realm of Chaos - The Lost and the Damned to the last Codex:Chaos Space Marines (don't own the recent).--Genestealer 12:52, 24 February 2008 (CET)
I have all the Background stories documented since Realms of Chaos - The Lost and the Damned (.pdf) AND all the most recent Chaos Codexes AND all the first round of Horus Hersy Stuff, AND all White Dwarf articles relating to the Thousand Sons *grin*. (Email if you want a copy) So far the above story is close but not quite. Magnus gave into the Ruinus powers who were always there tempting him, and provided a means that he and his legion might escape destruction. Even then though he hesitated, but he was left with no choice. The Thousand Sons were next seen in the skies above Earth battling along side Horus. The best example of this is White Dwarf 266 :Index Astartes: Thousand Sons.--Zigguratei 25 February 2008
The Section I was mainly objecting to was that the information did not reflect the latest fluff. Just as they gave some of the background to the DG (pre rubric fluff) and previously the TS played no role in the siege of terra. We should go with the most recent info available. Otherwise it could all become rather muddled, no?
Actually thats just the problem. I wrote Jervis Johnson about it a year back, since much of the recent Horus Heresy stuff is contradictory and highly debatible (See Council of Nikaea ). The Horus Heresy stuff is all written by Alan Merrit who is head of IP, however despite this (and the insisting of Sabertooth Games) Jervis said it's not cannon and wont NECISSARILY be used in the future codexes. (gotta love my spelling) Now that doesn't stop them from using it what they like out of it, but generally unless it is in the codex, it's not 100%. Makes doing a site like this difficult. There is a discussion on it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Horus_Heresy#CCG --Zigguratei 26 February 2008
Thanks and sorry i was unaware of this possibility.

Utter Confusion

I'm baffled. Khorne has the Berzerkers, Nurgle the Plague Marines. Slaanesh has Sound Marines. Is it Rubric Marines that Tzeentch has? Can other armies field those troops as well, or only the Thousand Sons?--Lygris 21:58, 15 September 2008 (CEST)

Info Box

I reduced the size of the Chaos Gods info box a bit, as it kinda messed up the page layout IMO. If this meets with approval I'll do the other Gods pages in same layout later on. If its felt that it looked better as it was feel free to revert back to the old layout, thanks Thelemur 03:07, 29 June 2011 (CEST)

Out of curiousity, do you have any of your viewing settings altered from default? As the page now - for me - has a large chunk of empty space between the lead and the first headline, and then that headline cuts right across and through the bottom of the infobox. I'm afraid to say, it looks terrible. However, this may be because of the my set-up? If other users could comment, it would be appreciated, thanks.--Mob 04:09, 29 June 2011 (CEST)
It looks bad on my side too with a section cutting the infobox in half--Ashendant 04:15, 29 June 2011 (CEST)
I've got the same as you Mob. Altering the zoom level on my browser, Firefox, the cutting headline line moves up and down respective of zooming in and out. Also, changing the screen resolution has an effect as well. Really im not sure what we can do about it, as the differences in viewers settings alter the layout to some small degree.--Ytokes 12:30, 29 June 2011 (CEST)
Strange, I've not changed any viewing settings from default. Ther reason I changed the page was because, on my screen at least, the Info box was over-lapping the headlines etc, thats why I left a bit of space between the intro paragraph and the 1st section to fit the info box in without. As it obviously isnt showing up like this on you guys screens prob best to revert it back Thelemur 17:07, 29 June 2011 (CEST)
