The Blighted is a Nurgle Cult that serve as faithful retainers and servants to the Death Guard contingent of the Sorcerer Porphyricus.[1]

History

The Blighted's formation began on the backwater world Azbaragus, whose population was being ravaged by a deadly wasting disease. The population's salvation came, however, when Porphyricus landed on their world and appeared like a beacon of hope to them. Though the Sorcerer's body was inflicted with disease like theirs were, he was still strong and powerful; while they were left weak and dying from the disease. As Porphyricus walked amongst the population, he claimed that the worship of his God, would cure their aliments and the desperate people of The Blighted readily bowed to his wisdom and prayed to Nurgle. The Sorcerer was true to his word - the world's now corrupted population no longer suffered pain from the disease and gained strength from their worship of their new God. Now known as The Blighted they faithfully serve Porphyricus and join him and his Death Guard in battle, where they are led by Noxious Clave, a pox-ridden demagogue.[1]
