The Wardens in White were two ancient Venerable Dreadnoughts in the Dark Angels Chapter and the eldest Dreadnoughts in the Deathwing Company.[1]

History

The identities The Wardens in White, possessed in life have been completely subsumed by secrets, but the sarcophagi of these silent figures are heavy with oath papers and ornate decorations. Though they are rarely seen by most of their fellow Dark Angels, The Wardens serve an important role within the Chapter, as they are the guardians of the Chamber of Passageways. The Chamber is a domed and mysterious space, that lies deep within The Rock and plays a key part in selecting who becomes the Chapter's Supreme Grand Master.[1]

When the time comes for the Dark Angels to select a new Supreme Grand Master, each aspirant for the position is led by the Keeper of the Keys to the Chamber of Passageways. There the greatest heroes of the Chapter perform the rituals needed to send the aspirants into the Passageways' darkness, as The Wardens in White stand watch. So important is The Wardens' role in guarding the Passageways, that they are only taken to war in the very greatest need and even then, only one may leave his post and his duty at any given time. Should the unspeakable happen and a foe of the Dark Angels was able to penetrate The Rock's countless defenses, it would be the duty of The Wardens in White to form the last line and destroy them without hesitation.[1]

During the Fallen Angel Marbas' invasion of The Rock, The Wardens fought for hours as they cut down swathes of attacking Daemons. Though tragically both fell in battle, not one of the Dreadnoughts' Daemonic foes made it past them into the Chamber of Passageways.[1]

Armaments

The Wardens in White were armed with Assault Cannons and Plasma Cannons.[1]
