Theron was a Space Marine of the Ultramarines active in the Indomitus Crusade, serving in the Eighth Company under Captain Numitor.[1a]
Biography
A native of Iax[1b], Theron was formerly a Battle-Brother of the Eighth, serving in an Assault Squad under Veteran Sergeant Pomibius. During the defence of Meto against an ork horde, Squad Pomibius was almost entirely wiped out fighting the orks, with Theron as the only survivor, barely making it back to the Mare Nostrum aboard a damaged Thunderhawk with his brothers' bodies.[1a]
On reaching the Mare Nostrum, Theron was met by Chaplain Helios. Helios had been assigned to a new mission by Captain Numitor and Pomibius had been assigned to accompany him; obviously, with Pomibius dead this was no longer possible. Helios decided that Theron, as the squad's survivor, would be elevated to the rank of Sergeant and take Pomibius's place on the mission.[1a]
