Vellum
Vellum is a parchment material, that is used by the Imperium to write upon and it is considered to be a prized resource.[1]
Description
It is known to be far more durable than standard paper and enormous amounts of Vellum are produced from the hides of Porcine. The parchment also plays an important part in the Imperium, as Vellum is the primary method used in the Adeptus Administratum's record keeping and distribution of information.[1] The Ecclesiarchy also writes its texts upon the parchment as well[2] and it is said that Vellum is the seventh largest import to Terra in sheer weight, due to the demands of the Imperium's bureaucracy. Because of this, the parchment is a prized resource and wealthy familial dynasties, that are solely dedicated to the creation of Vellum exist. Even so, untold amounts of the parchment are constantly used and inter-agency wars have been fought over the possession of Vellum.[1]
