Vorgarn Regiments

All that is known of the Vorgarn regiments of the Imperial Guard is that the 38th Regiment were classified as traitors to the Imperium; their eradication was assigned to the 42nd Vorgarn Regiment.[1]

Overview

The 38th Vorgarn Traitor Guard regiment were led by Tarsh Mardik, and their members were collectively known as "the Tarsh."

The 42nd Vorgarn, led by Captain Worlak, were collectively known as "the Kratch". Their members possessed zigzag scars, marking them out as "Warriors of the Kratch". The Kratch of the 42nd entertained a long-running blood-feud with the Tarsh of the 38th, and when the 38th turned traitor, the 42nd's commander lobbied hard for his regiment to be given the task of stamping out their cultural enemies.[1]

Notable Members

  • Captain Worlak: Leader of the Vorgan 42nd. Having previously lost an eye in a struggle with Tarsh Mardik, he determined to get his revenge 25 years later, when his 42nd were assigned to destroy the Tarsh of the 38th. He fought Mardik in hand-to-hand combat, but the victor of the duel is currently unknown.
  • Horren, leader of a jump-pack equipped 42nd assault platoon. Horren led the attack that captured the command bunker of the Vorgan 38th and personally delivered the prisoner, Tarsh Madik, to Captain Worlak.[1]

Explanatory Notes

Little is known about the Vorgarn, as they feature only in a short text piece during 2nd Edition. As a result, they appear organised and equipped in a way not readily comparable to current edition Imperial Guard units; a jump-pack equipped assault platoon and a commander on a jetbike appear.
