Vulscus is a planet of the Imperium.[1]

History

Vulscus was brought into the nascent Imperium during the Great Crusade. At least two Primarchs were present on Vulscus during the planet's liberation: Roboute Guilliman and Horus.[1]

Many millennia later, the planet had become wealthy due to the resources of the planet and its moons. The planet's fortunes improved further when, during routine construction work, an ancient relic bolt pistol was unearthed, which was confirmed by Mechanicus and Ecclesiarchy officials to have once been wielded by Roboute Guilliman. The planet's governor, Mattias, had the weapon placed on display at a shrine in the capital city, Izo Primaris, and many pilgrims flocked to Vulscus from across the sector to see it.[1]

However, it transpired that the official history of Vulscus had been altered in the wake of the Horus Heresy. In particular, mentions of Horus's role in the liberation of the planet were covered up; it was instead asserted that Guilliman and his Ultramarines were solely responsible, when, in fact, Horus and his Luna Wolves were the most significant force involved. Further, the bolt pistol almost certainly belonged to Horus, not Guilliman.[1]

Inquisitor Korm of the Ordo Malleus condemned the world to death for displaying a relic of the Arch-Traitor, even unknowingly. As a result, he contacted the Space Marines of the Emperor's Warbringers, who committed the 5th Company to destroy the relic, supported by Terminators and Scouts. The Warbringers devastated Izo Primaris, killing Mattias and destroying the bolt pistol.[1]
