Yardeen is an Imperial Fortress World.[1]
History
In its past, an estimated 60 percent of Yardeen's billion-strong garrison, rebelled against the Imperium and the Iron Hands invaded to restore order. Comprised of the Clans Avernii, Garrsak and Vurgaan, the Chapter employed drop pods and teleport insertions to eliminate the traitors' most heavily defended installations on the Fortress World. This allowed the Iron Hands to break the rebellion's strength in a matter of hours and due to the Chapter's heavy usage of augmetics, only 82 Battle Brothers were left injured. However while it is thought that 60 percent of Yardeen's population rebelled, some people theorize that these numbers may have been exaggerated. This is due to the number of "innocent" bystanders, that were found amongst the traitors' dead.[1]
