Zharka'noreth, the Rift's Right Hand, is a Daemon Prince of Chaos Undivided.[1]

History

He was originally a Space Marine known as Dzorgan Vorengen, until he drew the eyes of the Chaos Gods. They felt Vorengen had a greater fate worshiping them, if only he had the strength to do so. The Chaos Gods then began manipulating Vorengen, who eventually fell under their sway and he then rose to become a Chaos Lord. Vorengen then began a quest to attain Daemonhood and in order to do so, he dedicated himself to attacking the Imperium. Many of its people and worlds fell to his Warband and with each attack, his stature with the Chaos Gods grew. As he finally neared his goal, Vorengen betrayed and then sacrificed the Chaos Space Marine Norestor, who the Chaos Lord had considered to be a brother. This was done in order to obtain Norestor's Daemon Sword, which contained the bound Daemon noble Horeth'na'xrik. Vorengen did not regret doing so afterwards, as he felt the Chaos Gods had wished him to do so and that the weapon's potential had been wasted by Norestor for too long. Claiming the Daemon Sword, however, saw Vorengen face even greater thresholds in his path to Daemonhood. However he paved the way with greater and more numerous atrocities against the Imperium, until he was finally granted his wish. With that, the Chaos Lord's body was remade by the Warp and when his transformation was complete, the Daemon Prince told his Warband that Vorengen was dead. Instead, he would be called Zharka'noreth and informed his Warband, that he now bore the Mark of the Dark Pantheon.[1]
