Charnabal Sabre
Charnabal Sabres are weapons dating back to the ancient dueling societies and assassin cults of Terra during the Age of Strife.[1]
These elegant and deadly weapons rely on speed and dexterity rather than brute force. The pure metal of their blades is press-folded and stamped many times over before being micro-serrated with a sharp edge. The master swordsmiths of Terra who produced these weapons are said to have had their own rituals of forging, impressing a distinct pattern in each blade as a type of signature to those with the knowledge to read them. As well as nobles of Terra, certain Space Marine officers, particularly those in the Emperor's Children, favored Charnabal Sabres over more 'clumsy' Power Weapons, seeing them as being more responsive to true martial skill. Nonetheless, others think of them as effete and decadent weapons.[1]
A further enlarged version of the weapon known as Charnabal Broadswords were also employed by officers such as Saul Tarvitz.[2]
