Skolopendriform Mining Canopteks are gigantic Necron Canoptek constructs, which were originally vast rock-chewing Skolopendra, before they underwent Biotransference like their masters.[1]

Description

While before the Skolopendriform served the Necrontyr in their tomb quarries, they now serve the Necron in their space mining operations. There the Canopteks use their massive ring of radial jaws, filled with rows of green hyperhpase blades, to chew through asteroids and they can operate continuously in century-long harvesting operations. Their bodies' greatly aid them, as the Skolopendriform are modeled after the rock-chewing Skolopendra, once used in the Necrontyr's tomb quarries. Their serpentine bodies are the length of a Light Cruiser and are composed of thirty scalloped armored segments. Each are flanked by a pair of large phase blade-tipped claw-legs and the Skolopendriforms' heads are the size of fortresses. The Canopteks are blind, though, and rely on long feelers to guide them, which phase in and out of reality. The last segment of the Skolopendriforms' bodies are twin trailing lengths of its dissipation vanes.[1]

Despite being creating for space mining operations, the Skolopendriform can also be loosed on the warships of the Necrons' foes. Their undulating forms can easily wrap themselves around a Ark Mechanicus and their large jaws can tear open holes wide enough for the Necrons' fighter craft and transports to enter through. While Skolopendriforms' armored hides protect them from energy weapons, large solid projectiles can tear open their bodies and tear off their legs.[1]
