Pelegius is a hot desert, with ambient surface temperatures ranging from 28°C at the poles to 64°C in equatorial regions. Pelegius has a significantly higher baseline level of ionising radiation than the Terran standard, and the climate is generally inhospitable to humans. Population centres are shielded, self-contained temporary dome-habs, with external activities performed in sealed protective suits.
