Their armour and clothing are traditional, mirroring those of the first custodes. Their weapons look like spears, or spear-guns, but are actually spears with built in [[Lasers]]. These spears are also on their banners, badges and other regalia.
The guard never leave [[Terra]] and only rarely leave the Imperial Palace. Their place is at the Emperor's side. It is rumoured that they last saw action during the [[Horus Heresy]]. Like [[Space Marines]], Adeptus Custodes are superhuman warriors having had the same[[gene-seed]] implanded in their bodies. It is not however clear whether millenia of apparent lack of action has rendered them useless as a fighting force or whether they are indeed still the elite of the elite that they were originally.
