The Battle of Thridia was fought on Thridia between the Imperium and forces of Chaos, eventually having the Necrons arrive to battle as well.[1]
Overview
In 995.M41, a Warp Rift opened up over the planet, resulting in a daemonic invasion. The worlds Imperial Guard Regiments and PDF forces mobilize for a counterattack, but prove inadequate against the daemonic hordes. Retreating to Hive Vertes, they find their withdrawal blocked by Necron forces that have risen out of the ashes. Trapped, the Imperial Guard resolve to die fighting. However the Necrons have their own plans for Thridia, firing a volley into the Daemons and systematically destroying the invaders. The Imperial Guard have to conduct a running battle to escape, and eventually fight their way back to their Hive. The Inquisition soon arrives, and after mind-wiping the surviving Guardsmen and their officers, direct an orbital bombardment on the battle between the Necrons and Daemons.[1]
