Alliances will be made and broken on all sides as all four powers attempt to accomplish their own goals, some in a desperate race against time to stop the ever-growing threat of annihilation, some to secure the mission at all costs, and others simply wishing to engage in the most absolute wanton carnage. Only one power can prevail. And that power must then face the ancient menace of the soul-harvesters.
== Canonical Ending ==
The canonical ending of Winter Assault appears to be the Eldar ending with aspects taken from the Ork ending. Farseer [[Taldeer]] dies in the all the other faction endings. She is seen alive and well, leading the Eldar forces on Lorn V in [[Dark Crusade]]. In the Imperial Guard ending of [[Dark Crusade]] it is shown that Governor-Militant [[Lucas Alexander]]'s primary mission was to hunt down Farseer Taldeer for her actions on Lorn V, suggesting that Taldeer did infact leave [[Sturnn]] and the 412th regiment to die at Lorn V.
The only feature that contradicts the Eldar ending is that in the Eldar ending Lord Crull is killed by the Eldar, in the Dark Crusade Chaos story, Lord Crull's skull is taken by Eliphas the Inheritor should he capture the Ork stronghold.
