Dieprian Mountain Men
The Dieprian Mountain Men are an Imperial Guard Regiment.[1]
They were given their name by The Emperor himself, when he set foot on their planet, sometime before the Great Crusade. The Mountain Men are a single regiment relegated to safe guarding Dieper III. Committed to an eternity of guard duty, the Mountain Men are not sent to fight in major conflicts.[2a]
Their fighting style was based on ambushes at high altitudes using Valkyries, due to the fact that their homeworld, Dieper III, is a planet with many mountain ranges.

Recently Dieper III, has been conquered by the Tau. Now known as il'Wolaho, it is under the jurisdiction of the Tau Empire. The Dieprian Mountain Men, as a regiment, are no more.[2b]
Notable Members
- Lorenzo Cavalieri — Company Commander who led his troops in various conflicts on Laidia against a Warband of Chaos Marines.[Needs Citation]
- Iuseppe Carrafiello — a Sniper who killed a Chaos Lord with a bullet in the head while it was fighting against a dozen Guard privates.[Needs Citation]
- Emmett Falkens — Colonel and leader of the Mountain Men, before it was conquered by the Tau. Was killed in combat by Shadowsun.[2b]
