Akiliamor

The Akiliamor are weapons that were created by the Eldar during the days of their ancient empire.

Overview

They consisted of a core of dark matter with a number of warheads capable of detonating with enough force to devastate entire worlds. They caused a chain reaction that would release their contents across the surface of the target planet, stripping the surface bare, causing massive electrical storms in the atmosphere, and bringing about the emergence of great volcanoes, all of which left a planet barren and uninhabitable.[1]

At some point, an arsenal of akiliamor were stored on Taqamathi, a world located at the southern edge of the Eldar Empire, beneath the Palace of Tranquility, where they remained until after the world was abandoned. This planet would become populated by Humans, who renamed it Assyri, and were unaware of the powerful weapons located beneath their capital (which was built upon the Palace of Tranquility). Upon learning of this, the Eldar decided to reclaim this stockpile and sent Ambassador Arhan to negotiate with the governor Guyen Sethe. However, Sethe killed the Eldar delegates and stole their spirit stones, bringing about swift retribution from the Craftworlds of Saim Hann, Zandros and Alaitoc.[1]

After the decimation of the Imperial forces and the recapture of the Palace of Tranquility, the Eldar recalled the reason for their travel to Taqamathi. The Seers ultimately decided that they could not risk the akiliamor falling into the hands of the mon-keigh and activated the weapons. The akiliamor then scoured the surface of Assyri, leaving it uninhabitable. The chain of events became part of an Eldar tale told to their various colonies which became known as Zamorshemash.[1]
