Assyri was an Imperial planet destroyed by an ancient Eldar weapon.
History
In pre-Imperium times the planet was named Taqamathi by the Eldar, who stored an ancient weapon — Akiliamor — on the planet. Later this planet became populated by Humans, who named it Assyri. The people were unaware of the Akiliamor contained beneath their capital (which was built upon the Eldar Palace of Tranquility).[1]
After a betrayal in an attempt to return the artefact by Planetary Governor Guyan Sethe the Craftworlds of Saim Hann, Zandros and Alaitoc attacked the planet, widely using Wave Serpents that 'glided above the snows of the Assyri'[2] and completely defeated the Imperials. Out of fear that they might again fall into Mon-keigh hands, the Akliamor were activated, destroying all life on the planet and Guyan Sethe was given to the Harlequins to deliver to Commoragh for a fate worse than death.[1]
