Anachronistics
Anachronistics, or Anachs, are individuals on the planet Necromunda who reject the current systems and cling to the beliefs and traditions of the past. They are considered outcasts because they persist in following lost causes and outdated ways despite these being largely forgotten or destroyed in the present society of Necromunda.[1]
Overview
Numerous lost Houses, like Averest, Aranthus, Olrak, Hera, and Vosak, persist through the efforts of Anachs, with shadowy figures claiming lineage in the underhive. Even within existing Houses like Escher, followers of discarded bloodlines such as Eschaki, Athenos, and Ulandari are found in Necromunda's outlands.[1]
The Noble Houses often dismiss these claims, branding them as criminals and placing bounties on their heads, but some, like Lady Credo of House Credo, gain significant followings. Lady Credo has become an icon of rebellion against Lord Helmawr's rule, her veiled face inspiring dissent from Gothrul’s Needle to Hive Arcos' underways.[1]
Anachs also include remnants of organizations disbanded by Lord Helmawr, such as the Sectarium Enforcers, once powerful in Hive Secundus until its fall to xenos cults. Blamed and stripped of their ranks, surviving Sectarium members form a paramilitary group in hiding, hoping to redeem themselves in the eyes of the Imperial House.[1]
Fallen Guilds, like the Mercator Noctus, purged for alliances with Ash Wastes Nomads, also spawn Anachs. These families, once wealthy and influential, leave behind riches and legacies that attract those seeking to reclaim their lost status or wealth.[1]
Trivia
